As Zambia commemorates its 62nd Independence Day, Dzekedzeke and Company Legal Practitioners (DAC) joins the nation in reflecting on the significance of freedom, national unity and the peace that has characterized the nature of our country since independence in 1964.
Peace is among the foundations upon which our society continues to develop. Its preservation requires a collective commitment to constitutionalism, the rule of law, respect for rights and the responsible exercise of our respective duties as citizens. At DAC, we recognize that access to justice begins, in part, with access to legal knowledge.
Through DAC Legal Insights, we seek to make the law more understandable and accessible to the public, enabling citizens to better appreciate their rights, obligations and the legal principles that shape everyday life. Our commitment to legal education reflects a broader appreciation that an informed citizenry contributes to a stronger legal culture and a society in which the rule of law is better understood and respected.
As we celebrate this milestone may we continue to:
- protect the peace we have inherited;
- strengthen our institutions; and
- contribute to a Zambia in which justice, accountability and respect for the law remain enduring national values.
